This is a collection of my recipes. Many are quite old, and have been handed down through generations of my very Southern family. There are others that I have collected over decades of cooking. The purpose of this blog is to preserve and pass them on to the younger generations of my family, and to share with old and new friends. You are welcome and appreciated here. Christmas at my great-great grandparents home, 1898
On this blog I post a lot of old family recipes, and talk about my love of Southern things and people. I wanted to share this 1898 newspaper article from my home town newspaper. My hero, mentor, role model and very special grandmother was one of this lovely couple's grandchildren, and was at this Christmas celebration. I would have loved to have been there! Merry Christmas y'all!

ReplyDeleteSudha...as much as I love cooking, it is my second love as far as hobby interests go. My main focus is genealogy research....which tends to become an obsession. ;) I have been at it about 25 years, and have been fortunate enough to unearth a few treasures like this.
